Los Barriles Snorkeling With Easy Beach Access
The Los Barriles area has some awesome spots for snorkeling adventures! One cool place is near the south edge of town. It’s right in front of those bright white condos called Mar Y Sol and Hotel Agave. To get there, you can rent a fun UTV or 4X4 to drive. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can walk down from the main road or stroll south along the beach from Sunrise RV Park. Another option is to park at Playa La Gaviota and take a walk north to reach this spot.
Once you’re all geared up with your mask and fins, carefully slip into the water either from the north or south side of the rocky area. Keep an eye out for any tricky rocks as you make your way to the outer edge. Once you’re in, float on the surface and get ready for an underwater show! There are tons of fish to spot, and on my last snorkeling trip there, I saw thousands of them, all different shapes and colors. People often spot rays gliding around in the sandy areas surrounding the rocks, adding to the excitement of the adventure!
Los Barriles Beach Access
Let’s go on another adventure to a cool place called Punta Pescaderos, just 14 kilometers north of Los Barriles. The road there is like a wild roller coaster ride, so you’ll need a tough vehicle like a UTV or 4×4 to handle it!
If you’re not up for the bumpy ride, there’s a smoother road that winds through the hills for 34 kilometers. But remember, slow down and keep an eye out for rough spots!
Now, when you get to Punta Pescaderos, you’ll find a beach called Playa Palo Blanquito on Google Maps. The locals call it Snorkel Beach or Shell Beach because, guess what? It’s perfect for snorkeling, and there are tons of shells to collect! Imagine swimming among big rocks and finding secret paths to explore underwater. Keep an eye out for sneaky octopuses hiding in the rocky shallows!
Feeling adventurous? Keep going another 10 kilometers north, and you’ll reach El Cardonal. It has another pretty beach and a small reef for more snorkeling fun. But hey, neither of these beaches have snack shacks or bathrooms, so plan accordingly!
If you need a break, don’t worry! There are hotels and restaurants nearby where you can rest or grab a bite to eat. So grab your gear and let’s hit the road for an unforgettable seaside adventure! 🏖️🚗
